Hello, not strictly wedding related but it does involve bride to be, Emma and my travels to her hen do in Dublin.  I've never been to Ireland before so when Emma asked if I had the 24th June free, I immediately said yes and flights were booked. I was having the weekend off!  June is of course exceptionally busy wedding season wise but I was not going to miss this trip!

So the day started very early with a pick up at Willington Services at 4.45am so that we got to Birmingham International Airport in plenty of time for our 8.30am flight out, landing in Dublin just after 40 mins or so.  We got in our arranged transport - and headed off to breakfast at the fantastic Hatch & Sons on St Stephen's Green and right next to The Little Museum of Dublin.  No the only liquid that flowed during my Irish breakfast was tea - good ole fashioned tea although I confess to having a little bottle of CAVA on the plane! 

After breakfast we headed for our museum tour - booking essential as the guided tour is excellent at The Little Museum of Dublin to spend a couple of hours of fun before our bus tour began. Yes it was a full schedule of activities.  After the museum tour, it was off on a double decker around the city. I've not been on a tour bus before.  Lots to see and do but because our schedule was solid, there was no time for other tours, so that's something for another time.  We went past the various parts of Guinness Factory, Jameson Irish Whiskey Distillery and the Teeling factory.  Then a drive through Phoenix Park - Dublin's largest park and home to Dublin Zoo and the American Ambassador.  This park is worth it's own visit in a day - with the zoo and roaming deer plus there's plenty to see.  All my photos were taken with my Fujifilm X-T10 a superb little camera that comes with me on my  travels with 18-55mm lens on it!  I tried to document as much of the day as possible with a lot of it being on the top of a double decker bus. 

After the bus tour it was off to the local pub where en-route we saw a wedding and yes I couldn't help myself, I took a cheeky touristy photo with my teeny camera but I'm happy with the shots! A treasure hunt had been arranged with clues to aid us in our searches. So teams of 4 off we went out. Think we got about 4 then headed into the bar for a Guinness or two as you do!  There is lots to do in Dublin if Bars are not your thing.  To experience the live singing and the atmosphere was incredible - I could definitely come back.  So our day ended with a scrumptious three course meal at The Boxty House at Temple Bar. The food was gorgeous!  Then it was home time... Definitely going back and I am looking forward to blogging the wedding of Emma and Adam soon. :)
