Swadlincote Town Hall Wedding - South Derbyshire Wedding Photography

Today I thought I’d share this lovely rather intimate wedding of Sue & Graham which took place at Swadlincote Town Hall, Derbyshire back in the summer of 2019. It was early June and sadly the day had been full of downpours on and off for most of the day. This wedding was to be a late afternoon event where the rain did stop in parts and the right parts too.

Yes I am still blogging weddings from then but it gives me something to write about during this whole lockdown period that has been in place since March 2020 as all my weddings got postponed to 2021, so I have nothing to blog that is more recent.

I am always willing to give a little something back to the community especially when the couple are in their maturer years and have been together for some 25 years or so before tying the knot. So when Sue’s daughter, Laura got in touch, I really wanted to help and give Sue, Graham and their families some memories of this momentous day. It really didn’t matter to me if I received a wedding enquiry for a few hours only. It certainly wasn’t about the money it was about creating long lasting memories for all to enjoy!

Sue was given away by her sons with Laura, being the Maid of Honour. Graham, the groom gave a lovely reading as did Laura and her brother. After the ceremony it was time for the reception up at the Greyhound Inn at Boundary - Woodville for the carvery meal. That was so tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed mine. After that it was speeches and guest mingling before it was time for me to leave. I did a lot of candid shooting in the pub bar of many guests in attendance. My last photo of the day was the cutting of the wedding cake a mix of Derby County Football Club and traditional.
