Barton Marina Engagement Shoot - Staffordshire

Wow August already and nearly a month has passed since my last blog - yikes. Blogging is great but sometimes it does get left and forgotten. Although during these rather strange times, it perhaps shouldn’t but I’ve been busy with work related stuff and time has slipped passed me just like that. Anyway, I’ll catch up as there is so much to share from 2019.

So with that in mind on the whole catching up thing, today I thought I’d share an engagement shoot I photographed back in Autumn 2018, as for whatever reason I didn’t blog it. The only reason I’m blogging it now is purely because I’m about to blog their wedding day so thought it was a great way to introduce such a great couple. A couple full of love, giggles and fun, so meet Emily and Rick.

It was a November day, sadly the weather wasn’t the greatest but it was dry and not too cold. I was meeting Emily and Rick over at Barton Marina for their pre-wedding engagement shoot. Emily and Rick would be holding their wedding reception at the Crow’s Nest over the Waterfront Bar overlooking the marina, so it made perfect sense to do their engagement shoot within the marina grounds. There are stunning parts to walk around at Barton Marina. Fun and laughter was definitely spot on with these guys. We even had a little dog photobomb the couple in the woods so yes I took photos of mentioned photobomber of the four legged variety and he seemed rather interested in having photos done too.

It was pretty much giggles all round really, Emily danced around smiling all of the time and the whole session was just fun and so relaxed just as they wanted it. I believe people should be themselves and if that means being smiley, giggly and a tad bonkers (bit like me) then I’m all for it, just be YOU! It makes for great storytelling in any case.
