St Matthew's Church, Overseal & National Brewery Centre - Burton Wedding Photography

A crazy start to the wedding season when it finally got to May. We certainly have lift off on that front. How exciting though to be out there photographing gorgeous weddings yet again. As I am slowly getting to the end of 2021 wedding blogging, I thought I’d share this fun wedding that was very close to home.

I was assisting Holly again for this wedding and my day started with catching up with the groom at his parent’s house just up the road from the church in Overseal. There wasn’t any groom prep as such. It was more just the last minute catch up, grabbing some details followed by some family photos. It was very chilled morning before we started the very short walk to St Matthew’s Church in Overseal. It was a typical November, autumnal day a tad breezy but dry and that’s all you need really. Ok the breeze doesn't help our hair out whatsoever. It was my first ever visit to this little church on a hill in Overseal. I’ve often driven by and wondered if I’d ever get to photograph a wedding here… well yes I have now.

After the ceremony, we went off to the National Brewery Centre over in Burton-on-Trent. Sadly the venue closed its doors back in October 2022 with the museum due to relocate to another former ‘BASS’ base in a different part of the town. It certainly was a very popular wedding venue amongst the local community. Check out Chloe’s dress - now who doesn’t love a bridal gown with pockets? I most certainly do! I love the simplicity and elegance of it don’t you?

Once at the venue, guests were entertained by a close up magician and I can’t seem to remember his name - so bad but when you’re assisting you don’t really get the supplier details unless their known to me of course.

Then it was time for the wedding breakfast followed by speeches. All I can say is the guests were in absolute stitches at the Best Man’s speech. You’ll see this from the images below. I won’t say too much more on this wedding, only that it was just fun and I enjoyed the day. From start to finish it was lots of smiles, belly laughs and a whole lot of shots (drinking ones).
