Knockerdown Cottages Wedding Photographer - Derbyshire

Well what can I say about this rather amazing place? It’s in a beautiful location on the edge of the Peak District and just down the road from the lovely Carsington Water.

It can cater for up to 90 guests accommodation wise and can conduct outdoor wedding ceremonies. It has stunning views and offers the perfect DIY wedding! So how do you find this place? Click here for more details.

I was here documenting this beautiful wedding working as a second shooter. I got to photograph one of my favourite parts of the day being the bridal preps. The bride was getting ready in one of the lovely cottages onsite. It was my first time being a Knockerdown Cottages wedding photographer. I do love photographing weddings in and around Derbyshire. The county is full of gorgeous places to get married.

I am lucky to have two bases, one in Derbyshire (my home) and the other down in beautiful Gloucestershire. Both are fabulous places when it comes to wedding photography. It’s a great job to have albeit demanding on your feet and brain but privileged to be able to record keepsake memories that will get passed from one generation to the next!

The weather was glorious and perfect for the bride, groom and all their guests as getting married outdoors you really do need good weather or for it to be dry in any case. The fun started with the guys having a game of table tennis before prepping the drinks counter for later on.

The girls were simply relaxed and enjoying being pampered. The atmosphere was great, all smiles and a whole lot of love going on.

I continued to document the day, as I really love being a documentary wedding photographer, as I just love the storytelling idea without all the faff. I’m a kind of laid back person and using available light to bring my photos to life. I much prefer the non posed stuff but a few arranged photos is perfect for me especially when you have a gorgeous bride in such a beautiful dress! Pizzas, bouquet toss, music and fun were all there on Clare and Ben’s wedding day and it was great to be a part of it.
