Donington Park Farmhouse Wedding - Derbyshire
Being a Derbyshire based wedding photographer it was great to land a wedding booking at a venue that is just up the road - being the fabulous Donington Park Farmhouse. Only my second visit here to this place!
I first met with Sharon and George when they visited Ashby Show in the summer of 2019 so pre-pandemic. I had my little stall in the Shopper’s Marquee showcasing my equine and dog photography. We got chatting they asked if I did weddings, I sent details of my portfolio to them, the next minute they had booked in. BINGO!! I’d call that a successful show.
Sharon and George wanted a more relaxed style of photography and didn’t want a lot of fuss when it came to the couple portraits. Yes they wanted some but they really wanted to spend time with their guests. They even brought along their beautiful Golden Cocker Spaniel to the wedding too. Being keen country folk who go shooting during the season they did want to feature their working Spaniel somewhere. Sadly he wasn’t allowed to attend the actual ceremony and that was so sad. it wouldn’t have hurt. So I did some photos that included him.
As it was November, we were pushed on outdoor light as it was quite a late ceremony time - 3.00pm I think. So immediately after the ceremony, it was straight outdoors for family photos.
Going back to Sharon, the bride for a moment who was just wonderful to be around and photograph (not forgetting using that beautiful lighting in her room). Her chosen wedding gown was gorgeous and was from the Wedding Room based in Chilwell, Nottingham featuring intricate lace and stone details. Sharon looked amazing in it. Her friend Anna did her hair/make-up.
To sum up this wedding, it was a beautiful day with a lovely couple who were celebrating their love by getting married many years after meeting each other.
