Appleby Magna Church followed by Party at The Glade, A Wedding in the Forest, Rosliston, Derbyshire Wedding

Wow, wow, wow what a fantastic wedding to be part of. It was a glorious hot, sunny day at the end of June! All I can say is that I was in my element with the bridal preparation details, which included gorgeous shoes by Christian Louboutin, a gorgeous lace fitted bridal dress from the lovely Alison Evans Bridalwear (sadly she has now retired) and just wonderful people. A happy, go lucky couple so much in love and both Carly and John never stopped laughing!

The day started with both the groom and bridal preparations where everything was so laid back. The kids played ball outside, the pigeons cooed and nanna chilled out until it was time to go to the church. The guys were just as relaxed whilst enjoying a small dram of whisky! Carly’s long locks were perfectly styled by Shaun Wilkins of Hide Hair Lounge, based in Burton. Lastly all the ladies wonderful make-up was by Amy Dickinson.

The ceremony itself was at the beautiful St Michael’s & All Angels Church in the village of Appleby Magna just off the A444 going towards Twycross. It was full of smiles and laughter. It would seem that one of the groomsmen put ‘Help’ on the soles of the groom’s shoes and naturally it caused a stir amongst the guests and the vicar with a few giggles naturally as these things do. All captured beautifully on camera!

After the ceremony it was time to take the party to the venue in Rosliston at The Glade, a wedding in the forest where there was an inflatable bouncy castle, ice-cream, inflatable games and big donuts! It was fun to see the kids all enjoying themselves and not forgetting the adults tucking into ice-cream. As for the speeches, honestly I think the faces say it all, they were hilarious from start to finish with both Best Men, making everybody laugh and a few cringe worthy looks from the bride and groom at hearing moments they really didn’t want shared but that’s speeches for you!

Scrumptious food was provided by Saffron Catering the exclusive caterers onsite for all your wedding needs. Imagine Events did all the wonderful decor within the marquee with Becky’s Cakes providing the couple with a beautiful cake. The dj and Magic Mirror were provided by Ashley Goodchild over at GC Events and are highly recommended! I’ve worked alongside Ashely a fair few times now and he really is a great guy who will keep your guests entertained and dancing!

All in all great service all round for everyone involved for Carly and Johnny’s wedding. Wedding videography was by Mike (who was a super great guy to work with on the day, plus his films are fab, so do check him out) of Satin Pictures so if you know of anyone looking for a talented videographer, Mike is the one to contact!
