Following on from an earlier blog post of Georgie and Ryan’s engagement photoshoot over in Colston Bassett, I’m so happy to now finally share their actual wedding day. After one postponement due to covid, this beautiful wedding finally got to go ahead YAY! AND what an amazing day it was too, full of love, laughter and plenty of emotion.

So my day began with the bridal preps over at Georgie’s house where all her bridesmaids and her mum would be getting ready. Even the cat made an appearance although he did keep out of the way. I can still see the emotion when the wedding flowers came, when the dress went on and arriving at church. Georgie’s dress was stunning and really suited her slender physique. It was lovely to see the beautiful flower creations by Zinnia Floral once again as we’d met at another mutual bride’s wedding back in 2018.

Georgie and Ryan had opted for a smaller wedding inviting only close family and their good friends. They chose to have a traditional church ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Radcliffe on Trent just outside Nottigham. A really lovely church with a very cool, easy going vicar. The ceremony itself was personal to the couple and very heartfelt and there lots of tears. Probably one of the most emotional weddings I’ve ever photographed, ceremony wise.

Outside was greeting friends and family with some hugs, smiles and chit chat before we moved onto the confetti - I love this bit. A few family formals before many of us headed over to the reception venue over near Southwell, Nottinghamshire.

Horspool Luxury Retreat

It was my first time photographing a wedding at Horspool Retreat but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If I wanted to have a little breakaway, I would certainly go back here. It’s so peaceful and there are plenty of walking opportunities too. After a few more family photos, Georgie, Ryan and I went off for some couple portraits and for them to have 10 mins of alone time together. I think many couples appreciate this and enjoy the moment. Then it was time to head back in for the speeches which I might add were funny, emotional and heartwarming. After saying my goodbyes to Georgie and Ryan I headed back home. I wasn’t needed for the night time reception which is perfectly cool with me. I just enjoy every hour I am there and not all couples want their evening reception photographed.
