Santo's Higham Farm Wedding in Derbyshire

A Wedding Celebration in the heart of Derbyshire

When it comes to weddings, I just love photographing weddings in my home county. It had been a good 7 years since my last visit to Santo’s Higham Farm wedding.

This particular wedding which was late Autumn in November, I was second shooting once again for Christina Michelle Photography. The day began meeting with the bride and her bridal party for the latter stage of the bridal preparations. Check out the brides homemade Brooch Bouquet! The groom was expected some time a little later so I got some candid’s of him upon his arrival, ensuring I got one formal photo of him with his parents.

If there is one thing I love about this venue is the ceremony room it’s so light and airy plus the roof opens as it’s a conservatory/orangery style room that is perfect for a wedding celebration and if there is no rain, then voila you can have an outdoor ceremony indoors. The bride’s father wore his military suit for the actual wedding ceremony before changing into something less formal for the evening reception. I loved his Ceremonial Royal Lancers Uniform and albeit retired from the Military now, it’s still nice to be able to wear your suit for very special occasions.

Anyway, I won’t write too much as I was on this occasion merely an observer photographing a wedding in my usual way. Natural, candid with about 5% with just the couple which I love doing. No posing just smiley, happy people doing things their way! It was a beautiful day to be a part of.
