Mill Barns Wedding - Shropshire
Happy New Year!! I had meant to blog this post before Christmas back in 2021 but hey, life got a little hectic with editing and well the blog had to take a back seat. To be honest, I just wanted to switch off over the Christmas period and enjoy a little me and family time. Having recharged the batteries somewhat I’m so raring to go but it’s ages to when I shoot the first wedding of the year - well it seems ages to me!
A won’t ramble on too much about this wedding as I was a second pair of eyes for the lovely Samantha J Photography - and working alongside Sam is always a bonus and a great working day out of the office. If you’re a regular to my blog, you’ll no doubt see that I work as a second photographer a lot (and am fortunate to be able to use my images sometime later). The reason for this is my documentary style of photography, my ability to work well plus I get to cover either of the preparation side but mostly it’s the Groom which when I’m doing my own weddings, I don’t get to see and I’m a second pair of eyes.
So, back to this beautiful wedding. I began the day photographing the groom and his best man over at the Falcon Hotel in Bridgnorth. Before heading to the venue, we went over to the Bride’s parent’s house to catch up with the remaining groomsmen. Not forgetting two rather beautiful pooches that couldn’t be there at the ceremony. It was by and all a great morning.
Mill Barns Wedding Venue
It was my second visit here working alongside Sam. The sun was shining, it was late summer in September 2019 and venue looked superb. Loved the little confetti trail down the sides of the aisle and the two Mr and Mrs Balloons as you enter the barn itself. As usual I took my place at the rear of the venue using the upstairs balcony as a different viewpoint. Just checkout that confetti throwing as the happy couple walk down the aisle as Mr and Mrs.
As Sam was photographing the more formal portraits I did my usual rounds of documenting people. I love just capturing the smiles, adoration and all the emotions that come part of the wedding day. Friends and family chatting, raising a glass or two and reminiscing over old times. I never grow tired of observing people. I just become one of them. A friendly smile from a photographer is always welcomed. After a few couple portraits in the grounds, it was time for the speeches which I generally stay to photograph and then get to go home. All is all a fantastic day doing what I love!
