Edith Weston Village Wedding - Rutland Wedding Photography
A good morning from Tracey M Photography! Hope you all had a super Easter? A weird one this year as we’re in lockdown but I’m not going to dwell on that because that’s a separate blog post. This morning I’m showcasing a beautiful wedding I was once again, working as a second/assistant photographer back in late summer of 2018 for a lovely photographer Oliver Johnston Photography
My day began with documenting the groom preparations at a lodge village located not far from the village where the wedding would be taking place. I do love my job when seconding as it’s such a different perspective of working and something that I’m keen to bring in with my own weddings and I do try very hard! On my arrival the groom party was just about to serve up breakfast and naturally Champagne. The two go hand in hand on a wedding day!
Once James the groom was ready, I made my way to St Mary’s Church, Edith Weston, Rutland. A beautiful old style church in a quiet village. Documenting from the guest arrivals, a short trip to the local pub, the ceremony from the rear of the church to the confetti run, before making my way to the bride’s reception, a marquee at her parent’s house together with a little converted horse trailer as a Gin Bar which are becoming increasingly popular for rural/village weddings!
My favourite part on arrival to the reception venue is documenting people. With a friendly smile and a small camera, it’s quite easy to get on with, dropping in small conversations as you work. Makes it a lot more friendly and relaxed which is how I prefer to work.
My day finished as the couple entered for their wedding breakfast and speeches. So without further ado, here is the wedding through my eyes beginning with the groom preps.
