Barlborough Church then Hotel Van Dyk Wedding - Wedding Photography Derbyshire

Good morning - well for those where it is morning of course! Toady, I’m blogging the gorgeous wedding of Georgia and Nick which took place up in the North of Derbyshire bordering Sheffield.

So How Did Georgia Find Me?

Well it was actually on one of the many Wedding Facebook Groups. We arranged a meeting with her and her mum Tracey to chat over details of the wedding. We were to meet at the wedding venue being Hotel Van Dyk in Clowne, Derbyshire. I had heard of the venue as I know many photographers that have worked here but had never had the chance to go there myself until now. I was super excited. I love going to new places and exploring and even better when you get to chat and meet your clients! You begin to build up a super rapport with them plus they get to know a little of your personality and how your work. I had lots of things in common with Georgia’s family - they horsey for one and love the countryside and competing! A great start. I won’t ramble on too long - I’ll show the short video from the wedding day with some info about the day inbetween.

The Wedding Photo Slideshow

A short highlights film showcasing the day in the form of a short video!

The wedding day started with me photographing the bridal preparations at Georgia’s mum’s house in Spinkhill. A fabulous morning with lots of prosecco, horses and a dog. Being a huge animal lover I had to get some snaps of these. Surprise personalised gift boxes were handed out to all the bridesmaids and sisters of the bride. The morning was really relaxed and fun and made it very easy to document photographically! Christina my second photographer went over to photograph the groom and groomsmen who were getting ready at the hotel.

Once all the preps were done and Georgia in her gorgeous dress - I love the reaction of the mum and the rest of bridal party, we headed to the ceremony venue, the family church - St James’ the Greater in the village of Barlborough, where I believe Georgia used to sing in the choir there. So getting married here was very much a personal thing being the church where she grew up, attended and had fond memories of. It is a beautiful church. Such a beautiful and personal service. They couldn’t have asked for better weather for a May Bank Holiday weekend. I think the smile on Georgia’s face says exactly how she was feeling - excited, nervous and extremely happy! Having only met Nick at the church as he wasn’t there at the meeting, as they do live down in Southampton, it was lovely to see him looking so happy.

After the ceremony it was off to Hotel Van Dyk for the after celebrations and what a party it was. The speeches were all great. After the speeches we headed out for some natural couple portraits down in the woods as the Bluebells were out and the sun less harsh. It was all in all a fantastic day to be a part of.
